چکیده
Nine cases of early erythroblastic leukemia. unidentified by usual criteria, have been diagnosed using a panel of antibodies. Three cases arose in patients with Down’s syndrome, one in a patient with therapy-related leukemia, and four patients were in blast crisis of chronic myeloid leukemia; only one case arose de novo. Blast cells could be assigned to two main stages of erythroid differentiation: (1 ) presence of all erythroid-speciflc proteins in two patients. a phenotype corresponding to an immature erythroblast; (2) absence of the erythroid markers such as glycophorin A and spectrin in the presence of carbonic anhydrase isoenzyme I. ABH group antigens. and the antigen defined by FA6 1 52 monoclonal antibody in six

Prevalence of Macrolide-Lincosamide-Streptogramin B (MLSB) Resistance in S. aureus Isolated from Patients in Tehran, Iran
Background and Objectives: Staphylococcus aureus is an important cause of nosocomial and community-acquired infections in every region of the world. Clindamycin is one of the alternative agents used to treat S. aureus infections and accurate identification of clindamycin resistance is important to prevent therapeutic failure. Unfortunately, inducible clindamycin resistance is ...
متن کاملANTISENSE RNA TO THE TYPE I INSULIN-LIKE GROWTH FACTOR RECEPTOR REVERSED THE TRANSFORMED PHENOTYPE OF PC-3 HUMAN PROSTATE CANCER CELL LINE IN VITRO
The insulin-like growth factor I receptor (IGF-IR) plays an essential role in the establishment and maintenance of transformed phenotype. Interference with the IGF-IR pathway by antisense causes reversal of the transformed phenotype in many rodent and human tumor cell lines. We stably transfected the PC-3 human prostate cancer cell line with an IGF-IR antisense RNA expression plasmid. The ...
متن کاملModeling Breast Acini in Tissue Culture for Detection of Malignant Phenotype Reversion to Non-Malignant Phenotype
Backgrounds: Evidence is accumulating to support disruption of tissue architecture as a powerful event in tumor formation. For the past four decades, intensive cancer research with the premise of “cancer as a cell based-disease” focused on finding oncogenes or tumor suppressor genes. However, the role of the tissue architecture was neglected. Three dimensional (3D) cell cultures which can recap...
متن کاملIdentification of First Patient with Rh null Phenotype in Southeast Iran
Background and Aims: Rhnull, with an estimated incidence of one per 6,000,000 individuals, is an extremely rare disorder with an autosomal recessive pattern of inheritance that is more common in societies with a high rate of consanguinity. Materials and Methods: In this study, we report the first case with Rhnull, a blood group phenotype in southeast Iran, which was diagnosed during pretransf...
متن کاملEffects of Karyotype Variations on Phenotype of Patients with Turner Syndrome
Background: Turner syndrome (TS) is a sporadic disorder caused by the absence of all or some parts one X-chromosome with major developmental consequences such as short stature and ovarian failure etc. The minor manifestations of TS are cubitus valgus, micrognatism, high-arched palate, short and/or webbed neck, hypothyroidism, etc. Different karyotype abnormalities may lead to different clinical...
